Alice Griffin
has reviewed plays for publications from Variety to The New York
Times. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University, served as associate
editor and drama critic of Theatre Arts Magazine, and with her husband
John reviewed Broadway plays for New York radio stations WNYC and
WBAI.
At
Lehman College of The City University of New York, she taught modern
drama and Shakespeare and directed the graduate program in English.
Her ten books on theater include Understanding Tennessee Williams,
Understanding Arthur Miller, Understanding Lillian Hellman (with
Geraldine Thorsten), and her latest of four books on Shakespeare,
Shakespeare’s Women in Love.
